Father said, the family had no enmity with anyone
The News International reported that on Thursday, he died due to bullet injuries in his stomach, arm and knee. He was sitting in a barber shop in Sukkur city when the attackers in two motorcycles and a car started firing at him. Lalwani was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died. According to reports, his father Dilip Kumar said that his family had no enmity with anyone and dismissed the police claim that he was killed due to personal enmity.
Pakistani Hindu MP condemns murder
The police on Friday registered a case against three unknown criminals and started investigating the case. Condemning the killing, Hindu member Lalchand Malhi in Pakistan’s National Assembly said that this is a matter of grave concern. He tweeted and strongly condemned the murder of a journalist in Sindh. It is a matter of concern that attacks on media personnel in Sindh have increased.
The group of journalists said – Target killing of Lalwani
At the same time, a group of journalists demonstrated against the murder of Lalwani and took out a march after his funeral. The protesters claimed that the killing was target killing and the Sukkur police was responsible for it. Local shopkeepers also protested against the murder by closing shops. The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) asked Sindh officials to immediately launch a credible investigation and send those responsible for the murder to jail.
