Akola. This year, after the last two years due to relaxation in the Corona restrictions, many people lit Holi in public and in front of their homes in the city after 1.30 pm on Thursday. Holika Dahan was done by worshiping the mother with full rituals by arranging castor trees, cow dung cakes and chakoli, kandas, wood.
Starting from 1:29 pm on the full moon date on Thursday, till 12:47 pm on Friday, March 18 is the auspicious time of Holi Dahan, according to that many people lit Holi in front of their house. Many people also burnt Holika in the late evening. Wheat paddy was offered along with coconut, camphor, incense sticks etc. for Holika Dahan.
The elders blessed the children by giving them sticks. On this occasion, people prayed to God to burn all the worries, diseases, sorrows in Holi. With devotion, Holika Dahan was performed enthusiastically and worship was offered. Children worked hard for Holika Dahan. In the Akola metropolis and all the villages of the district, Holika Dahan was done in public places, in front of temples and in the localities.
According to North Indian tradition, on Holi, from the toe to the top of the head, that thread was measured with a thread of cotton and put in Holi. It is believed that due to this, the evil inside people gets burnt to ashes. This tradition has been going on for years. Today a large number of people lit Holi made of cow dung and wood in the courtyard of their homes. Along with this, public Holi combustion was also done at many places in the city.
Importance of making Puran Poli
Sweets were prepared for lunch. In Vidarbha including Akola, the importance of making Puran Poli remains on the festival of Holi. Due to which people enjoyed it by making Puranpoli. Due to Corona, there was a lot of tension in the city for the last one year, but this year due to less corona infection and decrease in the number of corona infected patients, people were seen very excited to celebrate this festival on Holi and Rangpanchami this year. Huh. This year people gathered with great enthusiasm were seen celebrating Holi with enthusiasm in their localities, cities and villages. The women of the neighborhood also came one by one to worship and worshiped Holi with complete rituals.
People’s enthusiasm for Rangpanchami
Rang Panchami festival is celebrated on the second day of Holika Dahan. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people regarding this. Crowds of people were seen in the market for the purchase of Rangotsav. People bought heavily in the market. To celebrate Holi, the festival of colours, many types of pichkaris and many colors were available in the markets. 40 of which Rs. 600 to Rs. Includes pitchers. Similarly, people bought hats, caps, eco-friendly, natural colors as well as red, yellow, green, blue, saffron, purple etc. According to the information received, this year there was an increase in the prices as compared to the previous year.
Maintain peace – Superintendent of Police G.Sridhar
In order to maintain peace and order during the upcoming festival in the district, District Superintendent of Police G.Sridhar has invoked Section 36 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951. Under which additional powers have been given to the police sub-inspectors of the district and officers above them. A close watch is being kept on anti-social elements. Orders have been given to take care that there is no overcrowding on any road or public place. Superintendent of Police G.Sridhar has said that celebrate the festival in a peaceful manner and maintain peace and law and order.
