Chandigarh. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday conducted a surprise inspection of a police station near Kurukshetra and ordered the suspension of three officers in connection with the “extreme delay” in solving several cases. Vij later said that he will ensure that people do not have to wander door to door for justice and the police will have to act on complaints immediately.
Vij ordered the suspension of Inspector Prem Singh and Sub-Inspector Ramesh Kumar of Shahabad police station for allegedly pending investigation of at least six cases while they were allegedly involved in arresting the accused in the case registered a year ago. In connection with the failure, orders were issued for the suspension of Assistant Sub Inspector Sudesh Kumar.

According to a statement issued by the Home Minister’s office, Vij perused several files and found that several cases were pending for the last six months to three years and the officials failed to act as per rules. Vij also directed Kurukshetra District Superintendent of Police Anshu Singla, who was present on the spot, to investigate these pending cases and submit a report within 15 days.
He said that surprise inspection will continue and it is the endeavor of the state government that every person gets immediate justice through a transparent system. Apart from this, the officials were warned of strict action for negligence.
