Dehradun, Amidst speculation that Uttarakhand Minister Harak Singh Rawat is angry and has resigned from the post, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Umesh Sharma Kau has said that the complaint of the cabinet minister should be accepted. been turned away and no one is going anywhere. In fact, there was speculation that Harak Singh Rawat is angry and may resign from the post on Saturday, after which the responsibility of quelling his displeasure was given to Kau.
Kau said the issue has been resolved with the help of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP leader Anil Baluni and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The MLA said that his proposal to open a medical college at Kotdwar has been accepted and he has been assured that the budget for this project will be released on Monday. Asked whether Rawat has agreed not to resign, Kau said, “No one is going anywhere. We will all work like true soldiers of BJP.”
Rawat had left the cabinet meeting on Friday night following which there was speculation that he may resign from the Dhami cabinet. Sources said Rawat had left the meeting as he was upset over the cabinet not getting the nod of the proposal to set up a medical college at Kotdwar.
BJP state unit president Madan Kaushik denied that Rawat had resigned from the post. Talking to a news channel, he said that the news of Rawat’s resignation is a rumour. Meanwhile, there were reports of Kau resigning as well. On this the MLA’s son Gaurav Sharma denied these reports and said that on Friday night some news channels ran news about it, he was also surprised.
