Sundar Pichai, CEO of the world’s giant tech company Google and Alphabet Inc. is currently on a tour of the European country Poland. On Tuesday, Pichai met with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, during which the two discussed ways to provide aid to Ukrainian civilians facing war. Sundar Pichai also announced during this time that Google is blocking Russian government-funded channels and apps.

Pichai said that IT companies are focusing on stopping Russia’s false propaganda related to the Ukraine attack. They are only focusing on bringing reliable information to the people. This includes providing air strike warnings to Ukrainians as well as information on places of refuge and other humanitarian aid.

“We are also blocking Russian government-funded channels and apps,” Pichai said. Poland is a neighboring country of Ukraine. In such a situation, the meeting between Pichai and the Prime Minister of Poland regarding the Russia-Ukraine war is being considered very important. According to a statement issued after the meeting, the two appealed to IT companies to help curb Russian propaganda and false information.
Google is also helping financially
Google has donated $35 million to humanitarian organizations working in Ukraine. It is also offering grants and fellowships for refugees and non-governmental organizations in Poland. Apart from this, he has announced a further donation of $ 10 million to support civil society in Ukraine.
Pichai and Moraviki also held an online meeting with the representative of the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janj Jansa, and the Premier of the Corona virus-infected Czech Republic, Petr Fiala. Moraviki also thanked Pichai “personally” for his “important role” in spreading the truth during the war.
