Aurangabad: The Pundaliknagar Police Station of the City Police Commissionerate has succeeded in busting the fake note making gang. Police have arrested 5 members of the gang and confiscated fake 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees notes of 500, 100, 50 rupees from them. This action of the police has created panic among the people buying fake notes from the gang members. Police said that the head of the gang is highly educated. He was recently released from jail in the case of implication.
Dilip Gangurde, PI of Pundaliknagar police station said that late on Tuesday evening we got information that some people are buying liquor by giving fake notes at a wine shop located on Pundalik Nagar road. On this information, Pundalik Nagar police laid a trap on the said wine shop area. Then a person named accused Raghunath Dhavalpure was found buying liquor with fake notes. On questioning him, he confessed to buying liquor from the wine shop with the help of fake notes. When the police questioned him, he, with the help of accused Samran alias Lucky Rashid Shaikh and some other accomplices, gave information about printing fake notes by renting a room in Mukundwadi premises.
Police confiscated goods
Pundaliknagar police first arrested Samran alias Lucky Rashid Sheikh on the information given by Raghunath Dhavalpure. With his help, the police arrested Annasaheb Padul, Dadarao Gawade, Akshay Annasaheb, members of other gangs running counterfeit notes in the market. The police raided the room where the fake notes were being printed. Then the police got computer, all in one printer, cutter scale, paper for notes. The police confiscated all this literature. Apart from this, the police also seized Mahindra Logan car, 5 mobiles used to carry fake currency.
