new Delhi : Today the results of assembly elections will be declared in five states, in which Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state whose results are awaited by all. On the other hand, the remaining four states are Punjab, Uttarakhand, (Uttarakhand), Goa (Goa) and Manipur (Manipur) where the results will decide whose government will be.
In western UP, workers of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and farmers’ organization Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) have put up tents near election offices in various districts of western Uttar Pradesh to keep an eye on the counting of votes on Thursday. While the RLD has forged an alliance with the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party in the recently concluded assembly elections, the BKU has been part of an agitation against the BJP-led government at the Center demanding abolition of the erstwhile agricultural laws.

Polling was held on February 10 and 14 for 113 assembly seats in 20 districts of western Uttar Pradesh. An RLD worker in Baghpat told PTI, “Many RLD workers in western Uttar Pradesh are working near the centers where the counting of votes will take place on Thursday. They have been camping in other parts of the state for the last two-three days following reports of misplaced EVMs.
