US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin (Joe Biden-Vladimir Putin)
US President Joe Biden on Friday told Russian President Vladimir Putin that he should take action against cybercriminals operating in Russia. He said that America is fully committed to protecting its people and important institutions. According to the statement issued by the White House, the leaders of both the countries discussed many other important issues including cyber security over the phone.
This discussion took place within a month of the meeting of the two leaders in Geneva. It is worth noting that during talks in Geneva, Biden warned Russia about cyber attacks on America’s top business establishments and important institutions. America alleges that these attacks are being carried out from Russia. The White House said President Biden has stressed the need to take action against groups allegedly operating in Russia that are involved in cyber attacks in the US.
Samware attacks will have consequences
US President Joe Biden has warned Russia to face the consequences of ransomware attacks from his country. These attacks have had an impact on America and other countries. Ransomware is a type of malware that is used to steal the documents of an organization and then demand ransom on their own. Malware is actually a suspicious software, also known as a computer virus.
Asked if Russia would face the consequences of these ransomware attacks, Biden said, “Yes.” He was talking to reporters at the White House after a telephonic conversation with Putin on the issue. “I made it clear to them that the US expects that when ransomware attacks are being conducted from their soil, even if it is not sponsored by the Russian government, if we give them enough information about who did it,” he said. So hope he will take action.
Russia should bust the gangs
The US President said, ‘For the second time we have established channels of communication for regular dialogue so that when either of the two countries feels that something is happening that will affect the other country, then we can talk to each other. ‘ During the talks, Biden stressed the need for Russia to take action to bust ransomware syndicates operating in Russia, the White House said, adding that he was committed to tackling the great threat posed by ransomware. Biden said the US would take all possible action to protect its people and its vital infrastructure.
