Noida. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Dinesh Sharma (DY CM Dinesh Sharma) on Sunday claimed that Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ) (BSP) will not be able to win even 100 seats altogether in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections.
Sharma hit out at the opposition parties for promoting communalism, criminal elements in the state’s politics and said that the BJP is fighting the elections on the issue of development. “Eradication of regionalism, family politics and mafia-rule is the aim of the BJP, which fights elections on the agenda of development,” he told reporters while campaigning for party’s candidate Tejpal Nagar in Dadri.
“I think western Uttar Pradesh will break its own record this time by supporting the BJP with more votes,” he said. On Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s denial of herself being the Congress’s chief ministerial candidate, Sharma said she does not need to say much about it as surveys by television channels have projected only 3-7 seats for her party. He is going. The deputy chief minister, while forecasting the number of seats for the opposition parties, claimed, “their combined figure will not reach three digits in the coming elections.”
On the BJP, which came to power in 2017 with over 300 MLAs in the 403-member assembly, he said, “BJP will get more than 50 per cent votes and will break its own record of getting votes in the state.”
Sharma alleged that earlier political parties in Uttar Pradesh used to mention communal issues and polarize minority voters, even as they have won elections in the past.

He said, “But the people of Uttar Pradesh have now tasted the benefits of development. There is no place for caste based or communal politics now.”
Sharma claimed that there was “a growing fear” among the public that the mafia and criminal elements would come back in the state as some opposition parties have fielded criminals or their family members as candidates for the elections. He said, “There are some criminals who are openly supporting some parties, indirectly warning people that criminals will create an atmosphere of terror if people do not support them. This should not happen, the state has changed now.”
He said, “Uttar Pradesh is no longer a state of migration but a state of development. There is no place for anti-social elements in the state now. They have been replaced by development, jobs, good health, education and that is the agenda of the BJP.”
Voting will be held on February 10 in Dadri in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of western Uttar Pradesh. BJP has once again fielded sitting MLA Tejpal Nagar from this seat, where 15 other candidates are in the fray. The result will be declared on March 10. (agency)
