According to dealership sources, the new Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG will be launched in the next month i.e. January 2022.
Tata Motors is soon going to launch CNG variants of Tata Tiago and Tigor in the Indian market. Earlier these CNG cars were expected to be launched in November 2021, but now it is expected to be officially launched in January 2022. Apart from this, select Tata Motors dealerships have already started taking unofficial bookings for these.
Tata has been testing the CNG variants of the Tiago and Tigor for a long time now. These will be the first CNG vehicles of the country’s leading car maker Tata Motors. The company has not yet officially given any information about the launch timeline of these CNG cars. However, according to our dealership sources in the Delhi-NCR region, the new Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG will be launched in the next month i.e. January 2022.

You can book by paying Rs 11,000 to Rs 15,000
Bookings have already started for this at select dealerships of Tata Motors. The Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG can be pre-booked by paying a refundable token amount of Rs 11,000 to Rs 15,000, depending on the dealership. Currently, the Tata Tiago and Tigor get a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This motor generates power of 84.8 hp and peak torque of 113 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and also gets an optional 5-speed AMT.

The upcoming CNG variants of the Tata Tiago and Tigor are expected to get a de-tuned version of the 1.2-litre petrol motor. Apart from this, the engine will only be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The new Tata Tiago CNG will compete with the Hyundai Santro CNG, Maruti Suzuki WagonR S-CNG etc., while the Tigor CNG will compete with the Hyundai Aura CNG.
