New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a 24-year-old man in the Chhatrasal Stadium assault case. A wrestler was killed and two of his friends were injured in the incident.
Officials gave this information on Thursday. He said that accused Praveen Dabas is a resident of Sultanpur Dabas village and a reward of Rs 50,000 was declared on him. Two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar has already been arrested in this case.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Jasmeet Singh said that on the information of Dabas coming to the village to meet one of his associates, the police arrested the accused on Monday near Prem Pyau Road in the village.
According to the DCP, Dabas told the police that he, along with Kumar and 18 to 20 of his associates, beat up members of their rival group with hockey sticks and sticks at the Chhatrasal Stadium here on the intervening night of May 4 and 5 last year. Sagar Dhankhar, Sonu Mahal, Amit and others from the group were seriously injured in the attack.

Singh said the attack was carried out by Kumar and his associates to take revenge on the members of their rival group and establish their dominance in the area. Police said Dhankhar had died in the hospital the next day. Dhankhar was the nephew of notorious criminal Kala Jathedi. Kumar was supported by the Neeraj Bawana gang. The DCP said that a total of 18 people have been arrested so far in the case. (agency)
