- ignore the GMC
Gondia, Due to the changing lifestyle, diseases related to the uterus have started increasing in women. A large number of women come from far and wide to the BGW Government Women’s Hospital here to remove the lump formed in the uterus, but they are given the next date after giving any reason.
There are also private hospitals for women doctors working in the hospital and doctors of government hospitals advise such patients to undergo surgery in those hospitals. As a result, uterine surgery is being done in BGW Hospital with very little evidence. As a result of which ordinary women and their families have to suffer. The city’s BGW Government Women’s Hospital is the only hospital for women in the district.
Where apart from the district, women from Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and nearby states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also come for treatment. For the last few months, the operation of the hospital has been given to the Government Medical College. Since then the condition of the patients is poor. Women are also kept on waiting for delivery.
Due to the neglect of senior officers on the work done here, the patients have to bear the consequences. In the last few years, the evidence of uterine diseases in women has started increasing. Removal of uterus with fibroid lump and cancer is the only solution. Already the economy of the district is completely based on agriculture.
In such a situation, poor families have become even more troubled by the poor service of the hospital. Date on date is also given to such afflicted women for uterine surgery. Medical officers advise these patients to get operated in the private hospital of the doctors of the same hospital and a huge amount is charged for this. Some agents are also seen active in the hospital premises for this.
Immediate surgery is necessary for women who have problems with fibroid lumps of the uterus. But this is not being taken care of in the hospital. Women who do not go for surgery in a private hospital are given a further date.
Lifesaving health plan failed
The State Government has started Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jeevandayani Swasthya Yojna to provide good health service to the economically weaker families, but due to less money for the doctor, very few surgeries are done under this scheme. Therefore, even if the plan is good, patients are not able to take advantage of it.
