Nagpur. Crowds are gathering at the ticket counters of the railway station. There is also a lot of carelessness regarding the COVID protocol. Surprisingly, the top railway officials are taking the threat of COVID lightly, due to which the residents of the city may have to bear the brunt.
There is chaos at the stations of the city. There are about 12 ticket counters at the station, out of which only about half are being opened. All automatic ticket vending machines are closed for the last one and a half years. Due to the ST buses strike, the only option left for the passengers is to travel by trains.
In such a situation, the rules of social distancing are not being followed at the ticket counters. If all the counters of the station are opened, then the crowd will automatically reduce, but the officials are not doing this. Surprisingly, railway officials are refusing to get any new guidelines regarding Omicon.
Omicron is three times more dangerous than Delta
The threat of the new variant Omicron of COVID is increasing continuously. So far, about 220 cases have been reported in 14 states of the country. It is spreading rapidly in the state also. About 11 cases have been found in Orange City itself. In such a situation, the central government has written a letter to the states and union territories and instructed them to take strict steps to prevent infection.
In this, Omicron has been described as three times more dangerous than Delta. Keeping an eye on every update related to Corona, it has been asked to take strict steps and take prompt action at the local and district level. It has also been advised to review the cases continuously. Such a strategy will help in controlling the infection before it spreads to the rest of the state.
