New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday that the rapid pace at which the coronavirus is spreading is a matter of “deep concern” for him. He appealed to the people to follow the COVID-appropriate conduct and get vaccinated. He said that he has recovered from the corona virus infection and has returned to the service of the people. He went into segregation on January 4 after being infected with COVID-19.
Thanking the people for wishing him a speedy recovery, the Chief Minister said that although he was in isolation, he was in constant touch with the officials and his ministers over the telephone to monitor the COVID situation in Delhi. Kejriwal tweeted on Sunday morning, “I am back at your service after recovering from Corona.”
On January 4, he was confirmed to be infected with the corona virus and he had isolated himself at home. He had mild symptoms of the disease. In a statement issued later in the day, Kejriwal said, “Even though I was in isolation, the rapid pace at which COVID is spreading in Delhi has left me deeply concerned. I was keeping an eye on things.”

On Sunday, 22751 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the national capital and the infection rate reached 23.53. Kejriwal said that there is no need to panic about the current situation, people should always wear masks, keep distance among themselves and follow other covid appropriate conduct.
He said, “Whoever has not taken the vaccine, must get it vaccinated at the earliest.” Kejriwal had held a rally in Dehradun, Uttarakhand on January 3, after which he was confirmed to be infected the next day. In April last year, Kejriwal’s wife Sunita got infected with COVID-19. Symptoms of infection were also seen in Kejriwal but the investigation did not confirm to be infected with the virus. Last year, most of the ministers of the Kejriwal government got infected with COVID. These include Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot and Environment Minister Gopal Rai. (agency)
