In such a situation, many states have announced curfew or lockdown to control the rapidly spreading corona. Lockdown has been imposed in many states including UP, Delhi and Rajasthan this whole week or the next 15 days. However, some things will also continue to be exempted during this period.
Tamil Nadu: Lockdown till 24 May
To control the epidemic, the Tamil Nadu government has imposed a lockdown of the entire state today i.e. from May 10 to 2 weeks. Full lockdown will be applicable from 4 am on May 10 to 4 am on May 24.
Restriction: Educational institutions will remain closed during this period. Government liquor shops, bars, spas, gyms, beauty parlors, salons, cinema theaters, clubs and amusement parks and zoos will remain closed. Excluding essential services, offices and private companies of other government departments will remain closed. Apart from government and private bus services, taxis and auto rickshaws on rent will also be closed.
Exemption: People traveling for essential work like marriage, funeral, interview or examination will have to show proof. Shops selling vegetables, ration, fish and non-vegetarian products will open only till 12 noon with 50 per cent customers. Hotels can pack food and give it. The state-run Amma Canteen will remain open.
Kerala: Full lockdown till 16 May
The entire lockdown was implemented in Kerala from 8 May to 16 May. Shops are closed across the state, while public transport has been suspended. The movement of people on the road is also restricted. Only essential services have been exempted and people have been given strict warnings against gathering in public places or unnecessary travel.
Rajasthan: Lockdown till 24 May
Rajasthan government has announced to implement strict lockdown in the state from May 10 to May 24. During this time, weddings have been banned. Weddings will be held only after 31 May 2021. Religious places will also remain closed. MNREGA works in villages will be postponed. In addition to medical services, all types of private and government transport such as buses, jeeps, etc. will be completely closed. Except for categories like medical and emergency, all types of traffic will be banned from one district to another district, from one city to another, from city to village, from village to city and from village to village.
Karnataka: Lockdown till 24 May
Karnataka government has also imposed lockdown from May 10 to May 24. Curfew has been imposed in the state since April 27, which was to end on May 12. The state government says that the corona curfew could not help in reducing the infection rate or death rate as expected. During this time all shops, business establishments, hotels, pubs and bars will remain closed. Essential services like food items, medicines, milk, fruits and vegetables will be available from 6 am to 10 am.
Delhi: Lockdown extended till 17 May
The Delhi government has extended the lockdown implemented in the capital till May 17. During this time, services of the metro train will also be closed. Now weddings can only take place at home or court and it will involve more than 20 people. The state government says that the transition rate has come down due to the situation like lockdown.
Uttar Pradesh: Lockdown till 17 May
The curfew, which was implemented from April 30 to curb the corona virus infection in Uttar Pradesh, was extended till Sunday, May 17. The state government says that the transition rate has come down due to the situation like lockdown. The curfew is in force in the state from April 30, which is being gradually increased.
Goa: 15 days curfew
The Goa government has announced a curfew of May 9 to 15 days in the state on May 7 to prevent the spread of Corona virus infection. During the curfew, grocery shops can remain open from 9 am to 1 pm, while there will be no restriction on drug shops and other medical facilities.
Himachal Pradesh: Lockdown till 16 May
The government of Himachal Pradesh decided to impose lockdown in the state from May 7 to May 16. Government and private offices will remain closed in the lockdown, but departments related to essential services have been exempted from this. Educational institutions will remain closed till 31 May. The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has decided to cancel the 10th examinations and the 12th class annual examinations will be postponed till further orders.
