Covid-19 Guidelines: Due to the new variant of the corona virus, Omicron, there is an atmosphere of panic all over the world once again. Meanwhile, the Union Health Minister on Sunday announced a new revised guideline for international passengers coming to India. Not only this, the government has also decided to review the date fixed for starting international flights. A few days ago, the government had announced that international flight services can be started on December 15.
revised guideline
International passengers coming from countries identified as ‘at risk’ countries are required to follow these guidelines.
- First, international travelers will have to submit their samples for the COVID-19 test as soon as they enter India. They will have to wait for their COVID report at the airport before boarding or leaving the connecting flight.
- If a traveler’s COVID report comes positive at the airport (after arrival or before departure), they will be isolated and treated as per the clinical management protocol. Samples of such passengers will be taken for ‘Whole Genome Sequencing’.
- At the time of boarding the flight, only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board after thermal screening. All passengers have been advised to download the Aarogya Setu app on their mobile devices.

- If the traveler’s COVID reports are found positive, their samples will be sent to the INSACOG laboratory network for genomic testing.
- All COVID-positive international passengers will be isolated and treated according to standard protocols, including contact tracing.
- People coming in contact with the positive person will be kept under institutional or home quarantine, monitored by the respective state government as per protocol.
