Thane: In Thane district, there has been a double jump in the cases of corona in the last three days. On Tuesday, 241 new cases were reported and on Wednesday, 493 new cases of corona were registered from Thane district itself. On the other hand, it has seen an increase on Thursday and 714 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. In this way, in view of the increasing cases of corona in the district, the fear of third wave has intensified. Because, Navi Mumbai and Thane Municipal Corporation under Thane district are becoming hotspots of corona infected. Due to this the concern of both the municipal administration is increasing. The maximum 266 new cases in the district have been found in Navi Mumbai.
Whereas 255 in Thane, 85 in Mira-Bhayander, 68 in Kalyan Dombivli, 13 in Ulhasnagar, 11 in Thane Rural, 6-6 in Ambernath and Bhiwandi and 5 in Kulgaon-Badlapur municipal area. Similarly, 714 new cases of corona were reported in Thane district on Thursday. In this way, the total number of corona patients in the district alone has gone up to 5 lakh 73 thousand 887. At the same time, there is still 1913 active case. The death toll from Corona in the district has reached 11 thousand 616. However, not a single corona patient died in the district on Thursday. On Thursday, once again the corona havoc was seen increasing in the Thane Municipal Corporation area. In the last 24 hours, 255 new cases of corona have been reported. Thane District Magistrate Rajesh Narvekar has directed the District Health Department to remain vigilant to prevent the spread of Omicron in Thane district. On this occasion Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Dr. Bhausaheb Dangde, Additional Collector Vaidehi Ranade, Resident Deputy Collector Sudam Pardeshi, District Surgeon Kailash Pawar, District Education Officer Sheshrao Bade, officers of District Health Department were present. During this, the details of availability of beds, oxygen stock, medicines, COVID centers in the district hospitals were taken.
COVID center should be shifted there
District Magistrate Narvekar said that during the first and second wave of COVID, the district health system had started many COVID centers. Some of these were in center schools, ashram schools. Now that the school has started, the COVID center should be shifted there. For this, alternative arrangements were also ordered to be made. Along with this, the report should also be submitted after inspecting the fire system in the COVID centers. The District Magistrate also directed to provide adequate oxygen reserve in the hospitals where corona is being treated, to ensure availability and to be taken care of by keeping in touch with the companies supplying medicines and oxygen.
