Mumbai: Controversy is increasing in Mumbai to name the ground after Tipu Sultan. BJP and VHP have attacked the Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Maharashtra over this issue. Meanwhile, Shivsena leader Sanjay Raut has hit back at the BJP. Sanjay Raut has said that, BJP thinks that they have the knowledge of history. Everyone is sitting to write new history, these historians have come to change history. We know about Tipu Sultan, no need to learn from BJP.
According to ANI, Raut said, “If they say that it is named after Tipu and they will do so for the sake of it, they should leave saying that it doesn’t suit them.” The state government is capable of taking its own decisions. Don’t write new history. You can keep trying to change history in Delhi but you will not succeed in that either.

Actually, a debate started in the past regarding the name of a playground and sports complex in Mumbai. A ground named after Tipu Sultan was inaugurated on 26 January. In Malad, Mumbai, Congress leader and Guardian Minister of Mumbai Aslam Shaikh had inaugurated this ground in his constituency. But before the inauguration, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), including the BJP, had objected to the name of this ground and the complex.
If they say it has been named after Tipu&that they’ll do this&that then they should let it be, saying all this doesn’t suit them. State Govt capable of making decisions. Don’t write new history. You can continue trying to change history in Delhi but you won’t succeed: Sanjay Raut
