Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is expected to visit India later this month, although the details of the visit are not yet known. According to Hindustan Times, people associated with the development told that the dates have not been confirmed. If the visit goes according to plan, it will be the first visit by a senior Chinese leader to India since May 2020 after the two countries face-off in a military standoff in the Ladakh sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The standoff and a brutal conflict in the Galwan Valley in June 2020 brought bilateral ties to an all-time low. 20 Indian soldiers and at least four Chinese soldiers died in the conflict.
There has been no official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the plans for Yi’s visit to India. These people said on conditions of anonymity that the two sides are in touch, but the visit has not yet been fully finalised.

It was not immediately clear whether Yi intended to visit India before or after the Nepal visit. These same people said that the Bhutanese side is not inclined to visit the Chinese side.
