- Difference in local prices from foreign tur imports
- Shadow crisis on tur producing farmers
Yavatmal, This year, after soybean and cotton growers in the district, there has been a sharp decline in the production of tur sown in Kharif and the beginning of Rabi crop. This year, farmers had sown tur as an inter-peak and major crop in about 2.5 lakh acres of the total area in the district. But the return rains, unseasonal rains in the month of January and hailstorm and dense fog have caused great damage to the tur crop of the district. Due to which 50 percent production of tur in the district has decreased this time. These days farmers are bringing their tur to sell in all the government mandis.
Minimum 5545, maximum 6500 rupees quintal price in government market
These days, in Yavatmal’s Agricultural Produce Market Market, during the auction of tur producing farmers by license brokers, a maximum price of 6500 and a minimum of 5 thousand 545 to 6400 rupees is being given to the best quality tur. But during the auction, tur is being procured at the maximum rate of only a few selected farmers in the initial phase when the bids are opened.
Along with this, APMC is also being apathetic in getting the minimum guarantee rate for the agricultural produce of the farmers during the auction, due to which the farmers are not getting fair price for the tur, such complaints were made by the farmers in APMC during the talks.
The procurement of tur produced in this Kharif crop started from the last fortnight at the government mandis at the brokers and merchant level. One thousand sacks of tur are arriving in the market every day.
Today, 1115 bags of tur arrived in Yavatmal government market on 1st February. Meanwhile, when the staff of the local agricultural market administration was asked about the arrival of this season, he forwarded the technical problems of computer and internet and from April 2021 to 30 December Informed about the arrival of 41 thousand 125 quintal tur in the government market by 2021.
Let us inform that apart from purchasing tur, soybean in the Government Agricultural Produce Market, a private level tur and agricultural production procurement center is also started at Lohara MIDC in the city, which is being run by three people, for this, they have officially purchased agricultural products from Pune. License and permission has been obtained. There too, this time the purchase of tur is going on in full swing.
After selling tur in the local agricultural market, there is a delay in getting the amount to the farmers, after selling the goods to the broker, it is paid after its purchase by the trader, whereas most of the farmers are there due to immediate payment to the farmers at the private procurement center of MIDC. Taking his tur, which has affected the arrival of tur in the government market, this picture was clearly visible in the market today.
Toor import agreement from Myanmar will not increase tur prices
Let us inform that earlier, after the increase in the price of tur dal, the rates came down, but despite the increase in tur production last year, its prices could not increase, although the rate of pulses has not increased this year, but the tur producing farmers have been given tur. Reasonable prices are not being found. This year also, the Directorate of Foreign Imports of the Central Government, DGFT, has decided to import 1 lakh tonnes of tur dal from Myanmar and an agreement has been signed.
The government has said to take this decision to meet the shortfall in pulses, but due to this, the tur growers of the district are not getting proper prices of tur despite the expectation, there is a possibility of fall in tur prices in the next few days. Due to the forecast, there is now concern among the productive farmers.
