Thane: Due to the negligence of the Municipal Corporation and the ruling Shiv Sena, the Thane Municipal Transport Service has been deprived of about 100 electric buses received from the special fund of the Central Government. The above allegation was made by Thane Vice President of BJP Sujay Patki. He has blamed the ruling Shiv Sena in the municipal corporation for this. Due to the failure of the municipal administration and Shiv Sena, many passengers have to suffer.
The Thane Municipal Corporation was suggested to respect the proposal for electric buses on behalf of the Central Government, but despite this, no step was taken by the Municipal Corporation in this regard. In the year 2019, the Union Ministry of Heavy Industries launched the ‘FAME’ scheme to enable public transport system in view of increasing urbanization and to tackle vehicular pollution. Under him, funds were made available for the purchase of eco-friendly buses.
