New Delhi. On December 28, 2021, former Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata (Tata Sons’ Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata) is celebrating his 84th birthday. It is to be known that Ratan Tata was born on December 28, 1937 in Surat, Gujarat, is considered to be one of the most successful businessmen in the country. But one thing that sets Ratan Tata apart and above other industrialists is his high ideals of life. Yes, he still gives top priority to kindness and empathy while doing business.
It is to be known that, Ratan Tata was born in 1937 in Surat, Gujarat. His father’s name was Naval Tata. At the same time, his mother’s name was Sauni Tata. Naval Tata was the adopted grandson of Jamsetji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group. Ratan Tata started his career with the Tata Group in 1962 at the age of 25. However, he later went to Harvard Business School to complete his studies. He was also an alumnus of Cornell University College of Architecture.
He briefly worked at Jones & Emmons in Los Angeles before returning to India in 1962. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 1975.
After this Ratan Tata joined the Tata group in the year 1962. After working in several companies, he was appointed Director-in-Charge of National Radio and Electronics Company Limited in the year 1971. JRD Tata retired as the chairman of Tata Sons in 1991. After this Ratan Tata was also made the fifth chairman of Tata Sons.
After this, as he changed the image of the Tata group with his hard work and took it to the heights. Under the leadership of Ratan Tata, the company acquired several other big companies, achieving success one after the other. In this sequence, Tata Tea acquired Tetley, Tata Motors Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Steel also acquired Corus.
It is worth noting that during the tenure of Ratan Tata, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was also listed in the stock exchanges in the year 2004. So he designed and launched the world’s cheapest car ‘Nano’ in 2008. Ratan Tata was honored with Padma Bhushan in 2000 and Padma Vibhushan in 2008 for his love for his country and hard work in his field of work.
Apart from all this, Ratan Tata is also a brilliant and successful investor. He invested in many startups at a very early stage due to his contemplative vision and in today’s time these companies have become unicorns. If reports are to be believed, Ratan Tata had invested in many big companies like cab aggregator Ola, Paytm, Car Dekho, Curefit, Snapdeal, Abra, Climacell, First Cry, Urban Ladder and Lenskart in the initial stages.
