Thane : With the arrival of bird flu in Thane district, it is now feared that the disease will spread after corona. However, the district administration has clarified that an outbreak of bird flu has been found in Mauje Veholi, which comes under Shahpur Tehsil of Thane district, and a distance of one km. Areas within the scope are declared transition zones. Along with this, District Magistrate Rajesh Narvekar has also issued a notification appealing to the residents of the district not to be afraid of this disease. The District Magistrate said that he has directed the administration to take necessary measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
Giving information in this regard, District Magistrate Narvekar said that some chickens have been found dead in Mauje Veholi, Shahpur. The death of these chickens due to bird flu was reported yesterday after their samples were sent to the laboratory for testing. Therefore, as a precaution, bird flu should not spread anywhere else in the district. Therefore a notification has been issued to stop it. Also, for vigilance, about 1 km according to the bird flu affected area. The area under the ambit has been declared as a transition zone. Action is being taken to dispose of poultry, poultry feed, egg and poultry farms in this area.

Apart from this, the District Animal Husbandry Deputy Commissioner has directed the poultry birds of the area to expedite the process of destroying the birds by the scriptural method through rapid action force. Until the affected area is declared a completely infection free zone. Till then an order has been issued to stop the day-to-day operations of chicken vendors and transporters within a radius of 1 kilometer. Along with, District Magistrate Rajesh Narvekar has clarified that apart from Veholi located in Shahpur, no other bird flu outbreak has been reported in the district.
