US Iran Will Start Talks on Nuclear Program: He has been under stress with the US for a long time with regard to Iran’s nuclear program. But now some progress is being seen in this direction. The US and Iran have said on Friday that they will begin indirect negotiations with other major powers of the world so that both countries can return to the agreement related to limiting the Iranian nuclear program.
About three years ago, then President Donald Trump separated America from the nuclear deal with Iran. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ned Price said that the resumption of the dialogue was “a healthy step forward.” This conversation starts in Austria on Tuesday. However, Price said, “These are early days and we do not immediately anticipate any success as there will be difficult discussion ahead.”
Trump separated America
Trump had separated the US from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018, although President Joe Biden has said that re-joining the Iranian agreement is a priority for his administration. It has been agreed to start multilateral negotiations so that differences between Iran and the US can be discussed to return to the 2015 nuclear deal (US Iran Conflict). Price said that next week’s talks would be centered around the working groups that the European Union has formed with Iran and other countries involved in the agreement.
Not expected instant conversation
Like Iran, the US has also said that there is no hope of direct dialogue with Iran immediately. However, Price said that the US is ready for this idea (US Iran Relations). Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif also stressed that no meeting is scheduled between Iran and US officials. Russian Ambassador to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said that “there is a perception that we are on the right path, but the road ahead will not be easy and it will require extensive efforts.” Different sides seem ready for that.
Return to agreement
Returning to the US agreement will be complicated as Iran continues to violate the sanctions of the agreement. It is believed that Iran’s move is to put pressure on the other countries involved in the agreement – Russia, China, France, Germany and Britain. Iran has said that before it complies with the agreement, it is necessary that the US fulfill its obligations by removing the sanctions.
