Award-winning actor, author and bestselling writer Bob Odenkirk, maybe greatest often called shady lawyer Saul Goodman on “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” was named 2023 Man of the Year by Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals on Thursday.
Odenkirk is scheduled to obtain his Pudding Pot award at a celebratory roast Feb. 2, after which he’ll attend a preview of Hasty Pudding Theatricals’ 174th manufacturing, “COSMIC RELIEF!,” the group introduced.
“When choosing our 2023 Man of the Year, I immediately knew we better call Bob Odenkirk,” producer Aidan Golub mentioned in an announcement. “We’re cooking up a lot of surprises to celebrate Mr. Odenkirk’s contributions to the world of comedy both in front of and behind the camera.”
Hasty Pudding Theatricals, which dates to 1844 and calls itself the third-oldest theater group on the earth, has handed out a Man of the Year Award since 1967. Last yr’s recipient was Jason Bateman, and former honorees embody Bob Hope, Dustin Hoffman and Sean Connery.
Odenkirk reprised the function of Saul Goodman, aka Jimmy McGill, in “Better Call Saul,” which earned him three Critics Choice TV awards and a number of Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award nominations.
He can also be the star and government producer of “Lucky Hank,” tailored from the novel “Straight Man” by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Richard Russo, which is scheduled to premier on AMC and AMC+ on March 19.
