Ayushman Bharat: The Union Cabinet on Saturday approved the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Under this, an allocation of Rs 1,600 crore has been made for five years. This means that a provision of Rs 320 crore has been made annually for the entire country. This scheme was launched in some parts of the country in September last year. Under this scheme, all the citizens of the country will be given the facility to make a health ID and through this all your health related information will become digital. This allows personal health records to be linked and viewed with the help of a mobile application. This database will make business easier for doctors/hospitals and health service providers.

Will get better health facilities
One of the objectives of this mission is to provide non-government health facilities to the low-income population. With ABDM, health facilities will be easily accessible in the far flung areas of the country. This scheme will be based on Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and Mobile (JAM) and other digital initiatives of the government. It was first announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day address in 2020. According to a government statement, digital health solutions in the healthcare ecosystem have proved to be highly beneficial over the years. CoWIN, Arogya Setu and e-Sanjeevani have shown that technology can play an important role in providing health facilities to the people. However, such solutions need to be integrated for effective utilization of resources.
