UP Board Exam Dates: A day after the cancellation of CBSE’s 10th board examinations and postponement of the 12th examination, the Uttar Pradesh Board of Education has postponed the 10th and 12th examinations till May 20. In the second decision, the state government has decided to postpone the university examination till May 15. In view of the deteriorating COVID-19 situation in the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday decided to postpone the Class 12 exams and cancel the 10th exam. The decision taken by CBSE has indicated to many state boards and they can announce their decision in the coming days.
The exam was scheduled to begin on May 8
Earlier, the examinations were to be held from April 24, but the new datesheet was later announced keeping in mind the panchayat elections. The examinations were scheduled to begin on 8 May. With this, the decision to close educational institutions in the state has been extended till May 15.
However, now after the closure of schools and higher educational institutions in the entire state, the board examinations will be canceled till further notice from the state government.
This year a total of 56,03,813 students have registered, compared to 56,07,118 students last year. For the last two years, the number of test takers in the state was decreasing. In 2019, 57.95 lakh students registered for the board examination, while in 2018, 66.39 lakh students were registered.
According to UPMSP Secretary Divyakant Shukla, the number of people taking the exam from outside the state is gradually decreasing, due to strict rules followed by the board in conducting the exam. However, the registration of students from the state remains intact.
