Ashneer Grover: Ashneer Grover on Wednesday strongly defended the allegations of the board of BharatPe. He said he was shocked by the allegations of fraud and financial misdoing leveled by the company on him and the family in order to “enrich themselves and raise money for their lavish lifestyle”. He said that the one thing that is lavish (gorgeous) to him is his dreams.
Shocked by the personal nature of the statement
Talking to Moneycontrol, he said, “I am shocked by the personal nature of the company’s statement, but I am not surprised by it. This is possible only through personal hatred and small thinking. “Lavish for me is my dreams and the ability to fulfill them through hard work and efforts,” he said.
Bharatpe alleges misappropriation of funds
Making serious allegations against Grover, BharatPe today said, “The Grover family and their relatives were involved in massive misappropriation of company funds, which included creating fake vendors. Through this, he has withdrawn funds from the company’s expense account and misused it to enrich himself and in his lavish lifestyle.”

Company reserves the right to take legal action
The company also said that it reserves the right to take legal action against the cofounder, who resigned as managing director and board director yesterday ahead of the board meeting on Tuesday.
The statement comes after a governance review placed before the board on March 1, paving the way for a new fight between the two sides. Grover said the investors he had bought in Series C, D and E rounds totaled $12 million in secondary shares.
Who audited the ‘levitation’ of lifestyle: Grover
He again targeted the legal companies and consulting agencies associated with BharatPe in the role of governance review process. “I would also like to know which of Amarchand, PwC and A&M (Alvarez and Marsal) have started auditing the ‘levitation’ of one’s lifestyle,” he added.
