Navi Mumbai : For the past few days, Sprouted Onions are being sent by NAFED to the potato-onion market of APMC located in Vashi. Because of which it is not getting buyers. For this reason, this onion is getting a minimum price of Rs 3 and maximum Rs 10 per kg in bulk. Similarly, wetness is being found in the new onions coming in the market. Due to which it is getting a minimum price of Re 1 and maximum Rs 25 a kg in bulk.
According to Manohar Totlani, who is doing wholesale business in the potato-onion market of APMC, 21 thousand 489 sacks of onion arrived in the market on Thursday. Totlani told that the old onion is being sent to the mandi by NAFED, it has sprouted. Because of which customers are hesitant to buy it. As a result, its price has come down drastically.

Totlani told enavabharat.com that while the sprouted onions of Nafed are coming, on the other hand most of the new onions coming in the market are turning out to be wet, which the customers are not liking to buy. For both these reasons, new and old onions are getting good prices. Where old dry onion is being sold for Rs 30 per kg. At the same time, new dried onion is being sold at Rs 25 per kg.
Potato and garlic also became cheaper
Like onions, the prices of potatoes and garlic have also come down drastically in the market. On Thursday, 23 thousand 989 sacks of potatoes arrived in the market, which got a wholesale price of Rs 5 to 12 per kg. Whereas potatoes used for making wafers were sold in bulk for Rs 21 to 24 per kg. On Thursday, 4 thousand 258 sacks of garlic arrived in the market. Which got a price of 15 to 80 rupees per kg in bulk. On Thursday, indigenous and Gujarat garlic was sold for Rs 15 to 50 and Ooty garlic was sold at Rs 20 to 80 per kg. Whereas garlic bud got a price of 10 to 35 rupees per kg.
