In a major relief to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, the Bombay High Court on Thursday granted bail in the cruise drugs case. All eyes are on Aryan Khan’s release from jail on Friday, a day after he got bail.
Apart from Aryan, the High Court has also granted bail to other accused Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, who were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after a raid conducted during a rave party on a cruise ship in Mumbai.
Aryan got bail from the High Court on Thursday evening after his bail plea was rejected several times by the lower court. However, the verdict came in the evening, so Aryan could not be released from jail. It is believed that after the paperwork is completed today, Aryan will come out of Arthur Road Jail and after 26 days he will step into Mannat i.e. his house.
waiting for bail copy
As per India Today’s report on Friday, Justice Nitin Sambre will hand over a detailed copy of the bail, explaining the reasons and conditions for granting bail to the three accused, including Aryan. Justice Sambre has a busy schedule. Every day about 70 bail cases, cases related to anticipatory bail come to him. The two-week Diwali vacation period of the court is also about to begin. This is the reason why Aryan’s legal team will try to complete all the formalities as soon as possible.
Will you get bail today?
Today i.e. on Friday, Justice Sambre has 40 cases. According to Justice Sambre’s staff, he is working and he does not want anyone to disturb him. According to the report, the order should be ready by noon. Some indicated that the justices have already started giving orders. Advocate Anandini Fernandes, who works in the team of Aryan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde, has been standing outside Justice Sambre’s chamber since morning so that she can get a copy of the order at the earliest.
Aryan Khan’s release process
The copy of the bail order from the Bombay High Court will first have to be submitted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act to the Special NDPS Court, which has the custody of Aryan Khan and others. Then after making the condition of the bond there, the NDPS court will issue a release order in the name of the accused.
After this, the release order will have to be put in the bail box outside Arthur Road Jail. Sources say that if the release order is put in the bail box before 5.30 in the evening, then the release will happen today itself. On the other hand, if the release order reaches after the opening of the box at 5.30 pm, then the release will be postponed till tomorrow morning.
After getting all the papers by 5.30, the jail authorities will start preparing for Aryan’s release. Usually the accused are released from jail around 7 pm. For all this process, the legal team of Aryan’s lawyer Manshinde will have to coordinate in South Mumbai to see that there is no delay in doing any process. Ever since the news of Aryan’s bail, a gathering of fans is being seen outside Shahrukh’s house Mannat.
