Aurangabad : Since the last one year, with the concept of Municipal Commissioner Aastik Kumar Pandey, the State Tourism Minister has been looking after the development works in the Kham River complex situated on the banks of the city. Aaditya Thackeray was surprised. While praising the works of Municipal Commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey on the development works done in Kham river complex, he stressed on adopting this work of Municipal Commissioner as a role model for such projects in the entire state.
The inauguration ceremony of the Kham river rejuvenation project concluded late in the evening in the prominent presence of State Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray on Republic Day. Before the ceremony, Aditya Thackeray visited the district’s foster minister Subhash Desai, MLA Ambadas Danve, MLA Sanjay Sirsath, Pradeep Jaiswal, Shiv Sena leader Chandrakant Khaire, municipal commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey, CEO of Cantonment Board Vikrant More and top officials of the Municipal Corporation along with Kham river complex. Visited the campus and took stock of the development works done in it. Then he expressed happiness over the work done by Aastik Kumar Pandey for the rejuvenation of Kham river without using government funds and said that the development work done in the Kham river complex would add to the development of the historic Aurangabad city.

Expressing his views at the launch ceremony, Aditya Thackeray said that we see such work in photography. But, today this sight is clearly visible. We would never have imagined that such work is being done after seeing the development works done in the Kham river complex. The development of this complex has made it clear that the historical city of Aurangabad is developing in perpetuity. Those who worked hard to develop the campus were honored with certificates today. But, those people have reached much further than this.
Work has been done on the same lines for Kham river rejuvenation.
The Tourism Minister said that cities are expanding day by day. Today 51 percent of the state has been urbanised. More than six and a half crore people are settled in 43 cities of the state. Despite this, the development of cities was ignored. There was no one to care closely for the development of the cities. Aaditya Thackeray repeatedly expressed happiness over the work done in the Kham River Rejuvenation Project, saying that if Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray was in this world today, he would have been proud of these works. Aditya Thackeray said that most of the cities of the world are situated on the banks of river and sea. Cities situated on the banks of the river can develop rapidly. Because, agriculture can be done there, drinking water is easily available. But, as the city expands, the river turns into a nala. Thackeray said that during his visit to Aurangabad a few months ago, he had requested NGOs and residents of the city for help for development works without using government funds for the development of the city. Today, work has been done on the same lines for the revival of Kham river.
Keep the 500 km campus of school and hospital clean
Aaditya Thackeray said that the government has decided to work on the concept of Safe School, Safe Hospital in every city. The government will work on this concept on priority basis where the school/college and hospital will be located, the footpath of that campus should be better, the lighting system should be better, the arrangement of city bus, as well as the 500 km campus of the school and hospital should be clean. . He repeatedly praised the works of Municipal Commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey and said that the way you have shown the presentation of the work done for the rejuvenation of Kham river. Here he should show the presentation to every municipal commissioner of the state. So that, such a development of the river complex located in all the cities of those states can be done. He appealed to the residents of the city to visit the Kham river complex and take advantage of the facilities available here. In the end, Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray said that he would work to implement such projects in other cities of the state.
