Now after this series, the director of the show Hansal Mehta is working on another web-series. This second story is also on the biggest scam of the country. Hansal Mehta Scam 2003 is working on a series on the life of Abdul Karim Telgi, a scam of 20 thousand crores in the country.

Who was Abdul Karim Telgi?
It was the 1980s. He first started making fake passports. The work went on. In 1991, he was arrested by Mumbai Police in this same fraud. But this jail tour proved beneficial for him. A fellow prisoner told him that after the Harshad Mehta share scam, there has been a shortage of stamps in the market. Telgi reportedly got information that people are extracting revenue stamps from old share transfer certificates and using them.
From 1992 to 2002, there was a scam of 20 crores of crores
Between 1992 and 2002, 12 cases were registered on Telgi in Maharashtra alone. 15 more cases were registered in other states of the country. But there was such penetration in his government, officers and system that his business continued. He was arrested somewhere in 2001. During interrogation, he had named many police officers and leaders. In the investigation, the name of an Assistant Police Inspector Dilip Kamath came out most interestingly. With a salary of just Rs 9000, the property of this person was found to be around Rs 100 crore. Similarly, the property of a crime branch inspector Vashisht Andale was found to be worth Rs 50 crore.

Abdul Karim Telgi – Buried after death
He was eventually arrested in 2001. While fleeing from the police, he reached Ajmer. There was a charge of 20 thousand crores scam in his name. In this, he was sentenced to 30 years rigorous imprisonment. He was sent to Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru for punishment. He was also fined 202 crores. All the associates of Abdul Karim Telgi involved in this scam were sentenced to 6-6 years. But, before the completion of the sentence, he died on 26 October 2017 due to Multiple Organ Failure.
Abdul Karim Telgi and the stamp paper scam done by him were so big that Bollywood made a film called ‘Mudramank (The Stamp)’ on it. The film was completed in 2008, but Telgi filed a case to stop its release.
At that time, Telgi had said that all the facts shown in the film can disturb the ongoing legal action on him. This film has not been released till date. Now Hansal Mehta is bringing the story of this film. Its story is taken from journalist Sanjay Singh’s , book ‘Reporter’s Diary’. Sanjay broke the big story of the scam at that time.
