A delegation of the minority community here on Monday urged the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to frame rules for the Hindu Marriage and Divorce Act. The federal government of the country approved the Hindu Marriage Bill in March 2017 with the consent of the governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Balochistan provinces. Rules need to be implemented soon
NLD members Krishan Sharma and Pushpa Kumari were present with Diyal (Hindu Marriage Divorce Act Rules). He apprised the minister about the need to approve the rules for the Hindu Marriage and Divorce Act 2017 at the earliest. Kumari said it is a matter of human rights for a woman who has to face physical and mental torture but the law does not allow her to be separated or divorced.
