A 98.5 The Sports Hub rising star who has been floated as a contender for the “Toucher and Rich” host opening has interviewed for the extremely coveted job.
Kendra Middleton, who makes common appearances on the morning present, confirmed on Wednesday that she interviewed for the open place.
Longtime host Rich Shertenlieb left “Toucher and Rich” final month after host Fred Toucher signed a multiyear extension to stick with the morning present.
Middleton on Wednesday joined 98.5’s Mike Felger on the Facebook Live “Off-Air Show,” and Felger requested her if she had interviewed for the morning present.
“I think I got a courtesy interview, so yes,” Middleton responded. “I think because I applied, they brought me in, which was really nice.”
Felger requested why she thought it was only a courtesy interview.
“Just because I think that I’m young and new,” Middleton responded, later including, “I think (Program Director) Rick (Radzik) took me very seriously. It’s just I think that there’s probably someone who, I don’t know, I think that I’m qualified. It’s just I haven’t been here very long, so I don’t know.”
Felger once more requested if she thought she was a critical candidate.
“I would love to be. I just, I don’t know,” Middleton responded.
Toucher on a current present joked that Felger was becoming a member of him on the morning present.
“I think it would go well,” Felger stated. “What is a sneaky hard spot is to be in the second chair, to be in the Mazz chair, the B chair, because listening is harder than talking… that would be the only discomfort.”
“I’m just used to running my mouth and setting the pace, and that sort of thing,” he added.
Jim Murray, often known as “Big Jim” who’s the third chair on “Felger and Mazz,” had been floated as a potential substitute for Shertenlieb.
Felger on a earlier Off-Air Show had requested the fan favourite if he was within the morning present opening, and Murray vowed that he was “100% not interested.”
A prime title being talked about as a substitute on the morning present has been Rob “Hardy” Poole, who’s on the noon 98.5 present “Zolak and Bertrand.” Hardy has been known as a great match for the morning present along with his manufacturing work and music background.
Middleton requested Felger who can be the very best match for the morning present.
“Hardy approximates Rich like in a lot of ways,” Felger stated. “I know I’m hardly the first one to say that. He has a lot of the same, I feel, on-air sensibilities and same tonality and same skills with the production… Hardy’s outstanding. Talented guy, creative guy. He’s been doing this a long time, and so it’s deserving if he wants it.”
Middleton added that Hardy is “the obvious answer” for the very best morning present match.
