New Delhi: On one hand in the country, where the third wave of Corona has started wreaking havoc. On the other hand, a large-scale vaccination campaign is also started to prevent this. Due to which 72 percent of the country’s population has received both doses of Corona Vaccine. This information was given by Union Health Secretary Rajiv Bhushan in a press conference. At the same time, the ministry has expressed concern over the increasing cases in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Rajesh Bhushan said, “Asia is showing a rapid growth in global contribution from 7.9% to about 18.4% in 4 weeks. India is also witnessing a sharp jump in COVID19 cases.
Bhushan further said, “Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are among the ‘states of concern’. We have sent central health teams to these states and are continuously reviewing the situation.” “Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, UP, Gujarat, Odisha, Delhi and Rajasthan are among the top 10 states in terms of active cases,” he said.

The Health Ministry said, “As on 20 January 2022 there are 3,17,532 new cases, 380 deaths and 19,24,051 active cases. The proportion of people who are fully vaccinated is 72%.” “So far 52% of children in the age group of 15-18 years have been vaccinated in the country,” he said.
