Mumbai: If you travel by Mumbai Local Train of Central Railway, then this news is important for you. 72 Hours Mega Block will be taken on Central Railway from 4th to 6th February. This mega block will be taken up for the work of 5th and 6th line between Thane-Diva. The work of 5th 6th line to provide separate tracks for mail and express trains and 4 separate tracks for local is in the final stage.
According to Mumbai Railway Development Corporation, 5th 6th line will be opened from 6th February. A mega block of 18 hours was taken in December 2021. The mega block of 36 hours was taken last week.

Mega block on January 23rd
The railway administration said that there will be a 14-hour mega block on January 23, which includes a 2-hour infrastructure block on the Up fast line between Thane-Diva stations. With respect to the 5th and 6th lines, the old redundant slow line is to be connected with the existing fast lines and to introduce the crossover. There will be a block of 2 hours on Dn fast line from 1.20 am on Saturday/Sunday midnight to 3.20 pm on 23rd January and from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm on Sundays on Up fast line. Trains will run on Up and Down slow line between Diva-Thane during the block period.

Due to the block, Dn Fast Suburban/Mail/Express trains leaving Dadar after 11.40 pm on 22nd January till 2 am will be diverted on Dn slow line between Matunga to Kalyan. Dn Mail/Express trains will not halt at Thane station. 11003 Dadar – Sawantwadi Road Tutari Express will run on Dn fast line without diversion and with its scheduled stoppages. Dn Mail/Express Kalyan bound trains operating from LTT after midnight of 23rd will be diverted between Mulund and Kalyan on Dn slow line and will not stop at Thane station.
Train pattern after block starts
Suburban/Mail/Express trains leaving CSMT, Dadar and LTT 23 at 2 am till the completion of the block will be diverted on the Down slow line between Mulund and Kalyan. Kalyan bound Dn Mail/Express trains will not halt at Thane station. Dn Mail Express going to Konkan will halt at Thane Platform Number 7.
Trains will run on new line
After the block, Dn Fast Local/Mail Express trains towards Kalyan will run via Thane Platform No. 5 on Dn Fast new alignment running via Kalwa and Mumbra stations in Thane-Diva section. After the block, trains coming from CSMT/Dadar/LTT to Panvel via Dn fast line or via 5th line will arrive at Thane platform number 7 and depart from new 5th line (earlier Dn fast line) via Parsik tunnel Will do

17618 Nanded-Mumbai Tapovan Express, 11030 Kolhapur-Mumbai Koyna Express, 12140 Nagpur-Mumbai Sevagram Express on the evening of January 22 before the block and 22105/22106 Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai Indrayani Express on January 23, 22119/22120 Mumbai-Karmali- Mumbai Tejas Express, 11007/11008 Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai Deccan Express, 17617 Mumbai-Nanded Tapovan Express, 12071/12072 Mumbai-Jalna-Mumbai Janshatabdi Express, 11029 Mumbai-Kolhapur Koyna Express and 12139 Mumbai-Nagpur Sevagram Express will be canceled.
