Ranchi : Inaugurating the workshop organized for newly appointed Lokpals under MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act), MGNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B said that the Directory issued by the Government of India to all Lokpals ( Directory) to discharge its responsibilities. For this, along with understanding every aspect of MNREGA, in-depth knowledge of the role of Lokpal is also necessary.
He told the participants that the post of Lokpal is not a post but an institution. Where you have to resolve the complaints according to the rules and the law. It is the impartiality of the Lokpal that gives it the form of an institution. MNREGA Commissioner said that Lokpal is an institution to increase transparency in the scheme.

Addressing the inaugural session of the workshop, the State MGNREGA Commissioner said that the Lokpals of 19 districts would be trained in this five-day workshop organized at the Institute of Rural Development. During this, they will get to know about the provisions of MNREGA and rights of labor beneficiary, functions and responsibilities of Lokpal, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for grievance redressal under MNREGA, Social Audit, Right to Information Act, Grievance Registration and Redressal in Lokpal Office and Social Justice. and principles of natural justice. He said that this workshop would be very helpful for the participants in understanding the nuances of MGNREGA and Lokpal directory.
