This 12 months’s Shattuck Awards for distinctive public service acknowledges 9 metropolis staff and three civic leaders.
For this thirty seventh 12 months of the Henry L. Shattuck Public Service Awards, the Boston Municipal Research Bureau will on Wednesday award these candidates that the group describes as “everyday heroes of public service” who “go above and beyond their job descriptions.”
Since 1985, 289 metropolis staff have been acknowledged with Shattuck Awards, in response to the BMRB.
The 9 lively metropolis staff had been evaluated by the BMRB on standards that features “unusual competence and professional spirit in handling assignments,” “exceptional initiative and professional attitude,” “proven ability to efficiently and productively deliver services to the public,” “helpful and cooperative attitude toward fellow employees and the public at all times” and “prudent management and administration of all assigned responsibilities.”

City Champions
Established in 1988, the City Champion Award honors “a business leader and a nonprofit leader for their significant contributions to the Boston civic community.” This 12 months, these persons are:

- Reshma Kewalramani, Chief Executive Officer, Vertex Pharmaceuticals
Shattuck Chairman’s Award
This occasional award goes towards a metropolis division head or a “prominent public official” for “demonstrated leadership, professionalism and resolve which serves as a model for all who work for the public good.”
This 12 months’s recipient is Larry DiCara, Former City Council President and legal professional.
