The Roman Colosseum is located in Rome, the capital of Italy (Itlay), which is called the finest piece of engineering. Now one such Roman colosseum is found in Turkey. It has been told that about 20,000 years ago, Gladiator (Gladiator) used to show his power among 20,000 spectators. This colosseum was discovered during an excavation at Mastaura. Mastura is an ancient city located in the Aydin Province of the country. At present, this Roman Arena is buried and trees have grown on it.
According to the report of the Daily Mail, the remaining parts of it are still safe and all four remain. It is not built in the ancient half-moon style, but it is an equal-built arena from all four sides. Let us know that the construction work of Rome’s Colosseum started in 70 AD. In this, from 50 to 80 thousand spectators used to enjoy the battle of gladiators. Sedat Akkurnaz, archaeologist and survey head of Adnan Mendres University, says that this is the only coliseum of its kind. He said, there is no example of such an arena in Anatolia and its surrounding area. This is the only example that has survived safely.
The inner part of the colosseum is better protected
Sedat Akkurnaz said that this colosseum was not visible due to bushes and wild trees. Most of the area of the arena is within the ground. The structure of the colosseum within the ground is better preserved. It is so strong that it looks like it has just been built. He said, some seats can be seen in the upper part of the ground of the colosseum. This is the arena where the gladiators used to fight and the walls supporting this building can be seen from outside.
This colosseum used to host battles between gladiators and wild animals
Archaeologist Akkurnaz told that the arched and arched construction technique of Roman architecture looks fine. This arena would have hosted thousands of blood-soaked warriors. It would have been built for fighting between gladiators and wild animals. It has not been replaced as any other building in future. He told that there are several large cities in western Anatolia around Mastura, including Aphrodisias, Miletus, Préna, Magracia and Aphasus. People from these areas will come in large numbers to witness the bloody struggle in this arena.
This colosseum was built 1800 years ago
Researchers believe that this building must have been constructed in 200 AD, 1800 years ago. During this period, the Roman Empire was the reign of the Severus dynasty. This dynasty included the infamous Karakal and his father Septimius Severus. Akkurnaz told that we do not know clearly about which king it was built during the reign of. But the stonework of the building and the technique of masonry are from the same time as the reign of the Severus dynasty. During this dynasty, the city of Mastura was very developed and prosperous.
