Jason Green, 15, was shot and killed in Brockton on Friday, and a 17-year-old has been arrested on a firearm cost, in line with Plymouth DA Tim Cruz.
“(Massachusetts State Police) and (Brockton police) are investigating the fatal shooting of a 15 year-old male that occurred yesterday at 3:23 pm at 131 Lynn Road in Brockton,” Cruz mentioned in a tweet Saturday. “A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged with possession of a firearm.”
The sufferer was later recognized as Jason Green.
Green’s life was “cut short due to gun violence by someone he believed was his friend,” household and pals wrote in a GoFundMe web page devoted to funeral bills.
“Jason was an amazing, funny, smart, uplifting, pure and genuine young man,” the web page states. “He was a great big brother to his baby brother. A wonderful son.”
The highschool sophomore cherished “playing sports, dancing, rapping, singing, and playing on his playstation with his friends and family,” the group continues, and was “a big class clown but always did his school work.”
In a remark, Brockton trainer Cayla Marks notes Green “often contributed wonderfully complex ideas to the classroom and pushed his peers to be their best selves.”
“He was loved by anyone he encountered,” the web page reads.
The investigation is energetic and ongoing, Cruz mentioned.
