Gondia, At present the cost of housing construction has become almost the same in both urban and rural parts. Due to which there is a demand to equalize the grant of both the sectors. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural and Urban) has been started for the common citizen so that every citizen of the country can get the roof of his right.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 1.20 lakh to the beneficiaries of rural parts and 2.5 lakhs to the beneficiaries of urban parts. But the grant given to the beneficiaries of rural parts is less as compared to the urban area, rural beneficiaries are facing problems in the construction of houses.
Now there is a demand to equalize the grant of both the sectors. People have got relief due to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Getting the grant amount is helping in the construction of houses, but at present the cost is almost the same in both urban and rural parts. The material has to be bought from urban areas only. If there are shops in the rural part, then they also buy them from the urban parts, due to this there is not much difference between the two enjoyments.
Even after this, less grants have been approved in rural areas than in urban areas. The population of the rural area is more than that of the city, according to this the grant for rural housing is very less. Due to which a demand has been made from the Central Rural Development Department to equalize the grant of Prime Minister’s Housing Rural and Urban Housing. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, for the construction work of houses in rural parts, Rs. 1.20 lakh for each house in rural parts. grant is received.
Apart from this, 12 thousand rupees for toilet per house. Along with this, 90 days wages are given to the beneficiaries with MNREGA job cards. The grant for rural parts is meager. It is not possible to build houses in rural areas with such a small grant. The beneficiaries are selected on the basis of socio-economic and caste census data.
Those whose name is not in this list, they are not allotted housing, a large number of needy in the district are deprived of the benefit of housing. For this reason the need for re-survey of Form D is being propounded. Along with this, there is a demand from the government to review the scheme and reschedule the grant keeping in mind the current situation.
