Pimpri: Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation) has launched a reward scheme (Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation) with the aim of creating competition in the departmental offices for effective collection of property tax and to achieve income growth from tax collection. Property tax is levied on buildings and land within municipal limits. The collection of property tax is done by the Head Office of Tax Collection and Assessment Department and 16 Tax Collection Divisional Offices. Various measures are being implemented by the Tax Collection Department to increase the revenue of the Municipal Corporation and to meet the budgetary objectives. These include putting up banners or flexes of various concessions of the department at the main square of the city, broadcasting jingles through private radios, home visits to owners related to arrears of property tax, issuance of pre-confiscation notices, final confiscation action etc.

However, Incentive Reward Scheme will be implemented for the employees of Tax Collection Department to maximize the recovery of overdue property tax and contribute to the overall development work of the Corporation. This will increase competition among all the tax collection divisional offices and the revenue of the Municipal Corporation will increase. Under this, prizes ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 will be given. This scheme to be implemented at the divisional office level will have the participation of assistant coordinator, group coordinator, group clerk or group head. The award will be given on merit basis on the basis of income earned from collection of wealth tax and percentage of recovery against their net demand.

In this, the first place holder will be given a prize of Rs 50 thousand, for the second place 40 thousand rupees and third place will be 30 thousand rupees. 25 thousand rupees will be given for getting the first position for the group coordinator. The group clerk or group chief will be given 30 thousand rupees for the first number, 25 thousand for the second number, 20 thousand for the third number, 15 thousand for the fourth number and 10 thousand rupees for the fifth number. A proposal of this is being presented before the general assembly of the Municipal Corporation for recognition.
Facility of payment of dues in phased manner
Citizens will be able to pay the available amount against the entire property tax bill. This facility will enable citizens to pay Basic Wealth Tax excluding the arrears of penalty i.e. penalty tax. Property tax recovery campaign has been started by the tax collection department. Under this, pre-confiscation notices have been issued to more than one lakh outstanding property owners. For this the computer system has been modified. This has been approved by the Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil. With this facility, citizens will be able to pay basic property tax excluding penalty tax. Also, a large amount can be paid in phases, appealing to take advantage of it, Assistant Commissioner of Collection Department Nilesh Deshmukh has appealed.
