Ranchi : In Ranchi district, continuous review is being done by the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi so that maximum number of eligible people can get the benefit of Petrol Subsidy Scheme. Today, again the progress of the work of entry on the portal of beneficiaries under the scheme was reviewed by Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan. All the BDOs / COs of the district including DDC, ADM Law and Order, District Supply Officer and concerned officials were present in the review meeting organized through virtual medium.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner did a block-wise review of the entry of the beneficiary in the portal so far under the scheme. Taking information about data entry from the concerned BDOs and COs in urban and rural areas, he asked them to generate more and more applications. The Deputy Commissioner said that keeping in mind the number of options available on the portal, generate maximum number of applications.

Under the National Food Security Act 2013 and Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme, ration card holders will get the benefit of the petrol subsidy scheme being launched by the state government from January 26. Pink and yellow ration card holders under NFSA and green ration card holders under JSFSS who have two wheelers will get ₹25 per liter cheaper petrol (maximum 10 litres). The amount will be transferred to the beneficiary’s account through DBT.

Some people have a misconception about the petrol subsidy scheme that due to having two wheelers, the name will be deducted from the ration card. Whereas the owners of four wheelers under the National Food Security Act and Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme do not qualify to be ration card holders. Those people who have two wheelers and who have ration card can take advantage of this scheme. His name will not be deducted from the ration card.
