New Delhi: The farmers’ agitation has come to an end after the central government’s decision to withdraw the agricultural laws. In this episode, today i.e. 23rd December is celebrated as Farmer’s Day in India. However, this day is special in many ways because the former Prime Minister of the country, Chaudhary Charan Singh was also born on this day. Chaudhary Saheb had initiated many policies to improve the lives and conditions of the farmers. Jayant Chaudhary-Rakesh Tikait paid tribute to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh on his birth anniversary at Kisan Ghat.
At the same time, in the year 2001, the Government of India announced to celebrate 23 December every year as Farmers Day in honor of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. It may be noted that the former Prime Minister of the country, Chaudhary Charan Singh was born on 23 December 1902 in Hapur, UP. He once said that true India resides in its villages. Many big decisions were taken by Chaudhary Sahib regarding the interests of the farmers. He was the Prime Minister of the country from July 1979 to January 1980. The decisions taken by him during this time left a different impression.
