The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has relaxed the conditions under the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme (ABVKY). The corporation has decided that from now on, claimants who claim benefits under the scheme who have submitted an online claim under the Atal Insured Welfare Scheme and uploaded scanned copies of the required documents like Aadhaar and bank details, No need to do. If the documents have not been uploaded online at the time of claim, the claimant will submit a print-out of the duly signed claim along with the required documents. The condition of submitting the claim in affidavit form affidavit has been removed.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, it has been said that after analyzing the response of the beneficiaries of the scheme, it was found that the condition of submission of claim in the affidavit form is causing inconvenience to the claimants. Therefore, this condition has been removed.
What is this scheme
Under Atal Insured Persons Welfare Scheme, the employees of the organized sector who lose employment get financial help from the government. This is a kind of unemployment allowance, which benefits only those employees who are covered under the ESI scheme. That is, ESI contribution is deducted from their monthly salary. After being unemployed under the scheme, financial relief will be given by the government for a maximum period of 90 days i.e. 3 months. The Atal Insured Persons Welfare Scheme is effective from July 1, 2018. Initially, it was implemented on a two-year pilot basis. Earlier this scheme was extended till 31 December 2020, but now it can be availed till June 2021.
