This means that after this hike, the price of Prime subscription for one year will increase from Rs 999 to Rs 1,499. Amazon is not only making annual plans expensive. According to the information, Amazon is also preparing to make monthly and quarterly plans expensive. After this increase, the price of the quarterly plan will increase from Rs 329 to Rs 459, while the price of its monthly plan will increase from Rs 129 to Rs 179. However, the company has not said anything about when these new rates will be applicable. The company has just said that these new rates will be applicable very soon.

Amazon clarified that users who have already taken the plan will not be affected by this update. They can avail it without any interruption till the end of their plan period. But if the new rates are implemented before taking membership, then in such a situation users will have to pay according to the new rates. However, Amazon will not charge any immediate charges from users who have saved their card for payment. Customers also need to note that this change in price will also affect users who get Amazon Prime membership through offers from their mobile operators. In these cases, users will have to check the updates given by their telecom operators.
