Train drivers at 5 corporations have voted to proceed taking strike motion for six months, union ASLEF has mentioned.
The corporations affected are Chiltern, c2c, East Midlands, Northern and TransPennine railways.
Unions must re-ballot members each six months to see in the event that they wish to proceed industrial motion.
Striking drivers brought on disruption to many providers in December – and now extra strike days are prone to be set.
ASLEF boss Mick Whelan mentioned it was a “clear rejection” of the “ridiculous offer put to us in April last year”.
Rail minister Huw Merriman has mentioned the “fair and reasonable” supply would enhance the typical driver’s wage from £60,000 to £65,000 for a 35-hour, four-day week.
The authorities needs the union to ask members to vote on the supply, however ASLEF mentioned drivers would not select extra strikes in the event that they thought it was a great deal.
Mr Whelan mentioned drivers hadn’t had a pay rise for almost 5 years and that he remained open to discussing a brand new supply with the transport secretary or rail minister.
“We want to find a resolution to this dispute, for members who have not had a pay rise since our last deals ran out in 2019,” he mentioned.
“And the only way to resolve this dispute is for the employers, and the government that stands behind them, to come and talk to us.”
More than 90% of votes on the 5 rail corporations had been in help of continuous the strikes, mentioned ASLEF, on a turnout of not less than 70%.
Rail strikes by staff within the RMT union had been paused in November after members voted to simply accept a deal.
