The partnership primarily revolves around Swiggy’s delivery partners. By providing a dedicated electric two-wheeler, which will be developed by TVS, with the sole objective of last mile delivery, the partners will be able to deliver better performance while reducing maintenance cost as compared to a petrol powered vehicle. Currently, only a small part of Swiggy’s delivery fleet is electrified.
TVS aims to use the partnership as a base to expand the market for its iQube electric scooter, which is currently available in 33 cities. Swiggy delivery partners using TVS iCube will not only allow TVS to reach more cities but also gain more popularity and especially in the commercial segment.
Mihir Rajesh Shah, VP of Operations, Swiggy, says about this partnership, “Swiggy is embodying the need to adopt more EVs with a commitment to deliver up to 8,00,000 kms per day via EVs by 2025. We believe they provide sustainable solutions in green mobility, while also empowering our delivery partners to generate more revenue.
