Mumbai: A day after the Union Budget 2022 was presented in Parliament, the Sensex jumped over 400 points in early trade on Wednesday and the Nifty crossed 17,650. During this, the 30-share index was trading 416.56 points or 0.71 per cent higher at 59,279.13, while the Nifty gained 117.95 points or 0.67 per cent to 17,694.80.
The biggest gain of two percent in the Sensex was in PowerGrid. Apart from this, shares of ITC, Axis Bank, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank and Bajaj Finserv were also seen in gains. On the other hand, shares of Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, Ultra Cement, L&T, Sun Pharma and Wipro were in losses during the early trade. In the previous session, the Sensex closed at 58,862.57 points, up 848.40 points or 1.46 per cent. Similarly, NSE’s Nifty gained 237 points or 1.37 percent to close at 17,576.85 points.
