In the foreign exchange market, the rupee opened with a weak trend at 74.37 against the dollar. In the previous session, it had closed at Rs 74.32 per dollar. After fluctuating in the range of Rs 74.34 to 74.63 per dollar during trading, the rupee finally closed down 23 paise at 74.55 per dollar against the previous trading session. This is the weakest closing level since April 27. The rupee has depreciated by 36 paise in the last three trading sessions.
Dollar continues to strengthen

The 50-share index Nifty closed at the level of 15680 with a fall of 41 points. Today, out of 30 of the Sensex, 17 shares fell and 13 shares closed with a jump. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors were net sellers in the capital market and they sold shares worth Rs 1,245.29 crore on a gross basis on Thursday.
